White Rice cooked with Spices
Ingredients:
- 200 g White Rice
- 15 g Butter
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1/4 tsp Cumin
- 1/4 tsp Garam masala
- A pinch of Turmeric
- A pinch of Salt
- 350 ml Chicken/ Vegetable stock
- 1 small Onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 180 C/ Gas mark 4.
- Rinse rice under cold running water couple of times and leave ina bowl of cold water.
- Satue onions in oil and butter for 3 minutes, then add garlics and fry for another 2 minutes, add cumin, garam masala and turmeric to the onions and mix well.
- drain the rice and add to the onion mixture, stir well. Add the stock and salt if needed, cover and cook in the oven for 20 minutes.
- Check the rice tio make sure all the liquid has been absorbed, fluff with a fork.
- Serve on its own or with Greek yogurt.
